light the fire
I had the pleasure of covering Dallas locals, Light The Fire at Three Links in Deep Ellum last week and the show has been ruminating in my mind since.
First thing I want to say is all of the guys in the band are so incredibly genuine and kind. It was my first time meeting them in person and they made me feel so welcome and as if I had already known them forever.
The band consist of 4 members: Seth - Vocals, Trey - Guitar, Andrew - Bassist, and Blake - Drummer.
Remember how I said they made me feel as if I’d know them forever? That’s just what they are about. During the last song of their set Seth said something to/for the audience, “…Everyone here has place here… you have a name and its known and you have a purpose… you are here for a reason…”and he meant it.
The band made a conscious effort not only after their set but during their set to interact with the crowd, letting them being as involved possible.
Their fans aren’t just fans, they are family.
When it comes to their music, they absolutely killed it.
They have been at it since 2015, but when they released their single “The Void” in May of 2017 that took them soaring, at over 1.3 million streams on Spotify.
Since then their discography has only continued to bloom with their most recent single “Eulogy” that came out earlier this year.
Seth’s pipes live are identical to the recordings, while Andrew, Trey and Blake bring the energy to the sound even while jumping and managing backing vocals.
They Truly made Three Links feel like the biggest venue in the world that night.
Here soon we hope to sit down and talk with the band, and learn just a little more about what goes into their music.
