Cradle Of Filth & Ed Sheeran - “A Marriage Made In Heavan”

British extreme metal band Cradle of Filth, best known for haunting gothic and symphonic metal tracks like “Nymphetamine Fix” and “Hallowed Be Thy Name”, has announced they will be collaborating with your mom’s top artist on Spotify and singer most likely to be played at least twice at a wedding, Ed Sheeran. Cradle of Filth lead singer Dani Filth talked about the collaboration in an interview with Metal Injection in April, stating that “[he’d] like to say it's a marriage made in Hell, but it's probably a marriage made in heaven, actually.”

Dani indicated in the interview that Sheeran would be providing acoustic guitar and vocals on the track, while Cradle of Filth would be providing an extreme metal-typical blast beat with a “very long scream” from Dani. Although he's branched out from his pop roots in the past with songs like "I See Fire", written for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug soundtrack, and his collaboration with rappers Big Narstie and Papoose, "Groundwork", Sheeran, a known metal fan, has not yet lent his talents to the metal genre, and Sheeran’s clean, poppy vocals and acoustics are certain to bring new dimension to Cradle of Filth’s fast-paced, loud, overwhelming sound.

The song is set to be released sometime this summer, and proceeds from the single will be donated to charities of both artists’ choosing. Both Cradle of Filth and Ed Sheeran have recently released full-length albums (Trouble and Their Double Lives and - respectively) and are currently touring— while Cradle of Filth’s tour went mostly unmentioned in Dani’s interview, this coincidence certainly suggests the possibility of a live performance of this collaborative single in the (perhaps near) future.
