HAPPYDAZE Release Single “BEEN AND GONE”

Happydaze has unveiled their latest single, "Been and Gone," and from the very first listen, it whisked me back to my high school days. It's like a nostalgic trip down memory lane, reminiscent of those moments when I'd be holed up in my bedroom, aimlessly scrolling through Tumblr, and reblogging edgy photos of swirling cigarette smoke.

What Happydaze has done with this track is nothing short of impressive. They've taken the well-loved melodic pop-punk sound and elevated it. The song boasts a velvety bassline, exceptional guitar work, and vocals that harmonize seamlessly to create a flawless melody.

But it's not just the music that strikes a chord; it's also the lyrics. The band delves into a theme that resonates deeply with me—losing oneself. Vocalist Luke Bovill shared with Thriller Records “After getting out and touring for the first time last year, the rush of being out in the world again was quite overwhelming. I lost a bit of direction, lost touch with a lot of people and didn’t know how to keep up with the pace of everything around me. The song is about grounding yourself in the moment, reaching out to the people you care about and realizing that there’s life ahead of you to appreciate.”

This Scottish quartet has left us craving more with "Been and Gone." Thankfully, earlier this year, they graced us with an EP titled "Full Free Radical," featuring the track "(Full Free) Radical" as a standout.

If you find yourself in the area, mark your calendar for their upcoming show on September 30th at September Ends Fest in London, UK. Happydaze is a band you won't want to miss live!
