SET//ADRIFT RELEASE NEW SINGLES“WAKE”

Our DFW local Friends in Set Adrfit have finally unveiled their new singles, “Wake” + “ROT”, and the anticipation was worth it.

With lyrics, musical composition, production quality, and gorgeous artwork. The singles took me back to my HS bedroom, scrolling through Tumblr, jamming Being As An Ocean and Citizen.

“Wake” starts with the strum of the guitar and peppy drum beat to set the tone for their curated melodic hardcore sound. The lyrics soon follow and, while gut wrenching, tell a story many of us know all too well. Member of Set Adrift, Joxhua, sat down and went into further detail about it in this sit-down.

“Wake” Is everything I’ve felt and bottled up over losing loved ones while also having these thoughts myself. The song gives you a first-hand feeling of how it affects the ones left behind, “... This is something we’ll never forget, we’ll never forget!” while acknowledging the difficult decision made by the ones we’ve lost.

“Every moment I breathe is a moment of self-defense…” “…Searching for comfort… trying to silence the voices in my head..”
