Spirit Leaves Release Single “Pulling Teeth”

Hard-rock band Spirit Leaves released single “Pulling Teeth” this Friday, a song that takes its listener on a dreamy three minute journey through a melodic music landscape. A rolling drumbeat and smooth but forceful guitar back dulcet vocals, and a short breakdown featuring an oscillating, jerky guitar riff set this song apart.
Although the lyrics seem to describe a rocky relationship, the band says that “Pulling Teeth” “represents a new beginning in taking [a] journey of healing and self love.” Teasing an upcoming album, the lead singer also notes that although “[a] lot of the topics on the record suggest that I’m talking about somebody else…throughout the entire project I’m really talking about myself.”
Spirit Leaves hails from Orlando, Florida, with a sound reminiscent of metalcore bands like Knocked Loose and Bring Me the Horizon. Their first release “Killjoy” came out earlier this year, and the band’s melodic but simultaneously raw and impassioned take on the genre resonates in both this single and their latest single, “Pulling Teeth”.
