STAIN THE CANVAS RELEASE NEW SINGLE - “IN REVERSE"

Stain the Canvas Release Single “In Reverse”

Our friends in Post-hardcore band Stain the Canvas are released their dynamic new single “In Reverse”!

The beginning of the song has a lullaby-esque quality to it, with crooning vocals, a bouncy rhythm and simple instrumentals, and a muted, high pitched accompanying vocal track, interjected suddenly by punchy guitar and drums that bleed into an energetic, half-screamed, half-sung chorus. As the chorus fades with a growled “And now you love me...” and a whispered “in reverse,” the bouncy rhythm and instrumentals from the beginning of the song return, before once again being abruptly interrupted, this time by rolling drums and a screamed lyric. A beat that was formerly kept by a repeated piano note transitions into a deep bass that backs increasingly frantic, whispered vocals that crescendo into a second chorus. The chorus is cut off by the same high pitched accompanying vocal track from the first two verses, signaling the return of the soft, dulcet lullaby from earlier, this time featuring a distorted vocal track that transitions into a screamed pre-chorus, leading into an energetic final chorus.

The band says their new single “is about a toxic relationship between a narcissistic person and another one who has been hurt multiple times before. ”You can listen to “In Reverse” on Spotify and check out the haunting, eerie music video on YouTube!
