HAPPYDAZE RELEASE NEW SINGLE “PIECE OF ME”

Our pals over at Happydaze dropped their latest tune today,"Q50" — just kidding! They unleashed the masterpiece "Piece of Me." If you caught Luke, the frontman, and Peter, the drummer, in their interview with me, you'd know where that came from…

"Piece of Me" is like a musical trampoline, bouncing with fun and making you wanna dance like nobody's watching, perhaps in your underwear, à la Emma Stone’s character in "Easy A" rocking out to Natasha Bedingfield's "Pocket Full of Sunshine." Yep, I went full-on dance party when Peter sent me this jam to review last Tuesday.

This track is a musical gumbo, blending pop, pop-punk, and a sprinkle of electronica to create a sound that's more addictive than a bag of your favorite chips. In an interview with SPL/CED, Luke and Pete spilled the beans about their diverse musical influences. Even though Happydaze is a pop-punk band, they refuse to be boxed in, and that's what makes them special.

I know, I know, we're all desperately craving a whole album after being spoiled with tracks like "Piece of Me" and "Been and Gone." But the band is teasing us just a little longer. I feel your pain, but hey, good things come to those who wait, right?

Anyhow, "Piece of Me" is out in the wild now, so drop what you're doing and give it a whirl below!

Oh and don’t forget to watch the interview with Luke and Pete of Happydaze below, maybe then you will know what I mean by saying “Q50” !
