Catch Your Breath Release Debut Album with Single “Dying of the Inside”

Catch Your Breath released their debut album Shame on Me this Friday, with singles from their recently released EP Mirror and six new songs, including the band’s emotional new single “Dying on the Inside”.

This release seamlessly weaves previously released singles with hard-hitting new tracks into an album that ebbs and flows between emotive lyrics and chillingly melodic vocals and instrumentals and fast-paced, bold choruses that pierce through more understated, but no less passionate, verses. The album exemplifies Catch Your Breath’s ability to express deep sorrow and vulnerability through dynamic and energetic music.

“No Evil” kicks the album off with chaotic, breakneck instrumentals and heated, growled vocals, before the song transitions into a melodic chorus. “Dying on the Inside” inverts “No Evil”’s formula, building from a more subdued first verse into a powerful chorus with desperate, pleading lyrics and vocals. This pattern of quiet, contemplative verses that crescendo into aggressive, emotionally charged choruses, that then peter out into resigned, quiet following verses, carries through many of the remaining songs on the albums, and perhaps serves as a reflection of the album’s thematic juxtaposition of hope and hopelessness. The album comes to a momentous conclusion with previously released title track and fan-favorite “Shame on Me”.

Shame on Me is available to stream on Spotify, and you can catch Catch Your Breath on tour with From Ashes To New, and label mates The Word Alive, this winter.
