Godsmack @ The Resch Center, Green Bay

Featuring - I Prevail & Flat Black

I had the incredible opportunity to attend the Godsmack concert at the Resch Center in Green Bay this last Tuesday with the always amazing I Prevail.I Prevail set the stage on fire with their high-energy performance, starting the night off with their massive single “Bow Down” showcasing their signature blend of metalcore and post-hardcore. The somewhat older crowd was instantly floored by their raw intensity, and left no doubt that they were a perfect choice for this tour with the almighty Godsmack. My favorite part of the night had to be when the band brought a 12 year old boy on stage for the breakdown of “Gasoline” and the first words out of the kids mouth were “Move the fucking pit”. Lets just say the crowd went into an absolute frenzy.

When Godsmack finally took the stage, the energy in the room was off the charts. The combination of lights, video boards, and of course pyrotechnics was truly impressive. The band delivered a masterful setlist that included some of their older hits, my personal favorites, such as “Awake” “Whatever” and “I Stand Alone”.

The connection between Godsmack and their dedicated fan base is one of the best in the rock scene as front man Sully Erna discussed the bands beginnings 25 years ago and shared his heartfelt thanks to the fans for supporting them year after year. All three bands tonight put on stellar performances, however, Godsmack’s set was a testament to the fact that even after 25 years, they are still one of the best live rock bands around today.
