Shinedown @ Credit Union of Texas Event Center

Featuring - Papa Roach & Spiritbox

October 6th, 2023 is a date that I will remember for years to come. That is the date Shinedown came down to Allen, Texas to perform alongside Papa Roach and Spiritbox. Each one of these bands normally headlining their own tours, now all together under one roof. This is not a tour that you want to miss.

Hypnotizing. That is the first word that comes to mind when I think back on the performance by Courtney LaPlante and Spiritbox. There were multiple times throughout the beginning of the show(first couple songs), when I was suppose to be photographing the band, that I found myself completely lost in the performance. The band opened with their hit single and currently number one streamed song on Spotify β€œJaded” followed by β€œHurt You, and β€œYellowjacket” off of Eternal Blue . Now the opening bands responsibility as you know is to get the crowd warmed up for the headlining acts and I don’t think Spiritbox could have done that any better than by finishing their set with their by far heaviest song β€œHoly Roller”. Saying that got the crowd ready for Papa Roach is an understatement.

Now you can say Papa Roach has been around for a while, that they should know what they are doing after 20 plus years, but that still doesn’t take away from the fact that this band is damn impressive live and has been kicking ass in the rock community since all the way back in 2001.

The energy and emotion these guys bring on stage every night is a must see and it is all lead by front man Jacoby Shaddix. Not only do they put out great music year after year they also have great messages. Jacoby struggled with alcohol and drug abuse up until 2012, but has now remained sober for more than a decade. The band is also a huge advocate for suicide prevention, and makes continuous donations to help suicide prevention with the ticket sales for every show.

Last but not least Shinedown. Another band that has been at the top of the rock charts every single year since the release of their debut album Leave a Whisper in 2003. Now I know that I already brought up being hypnotized by Courtney and Spiritbox, but what I can I say Brent Smith who is arguably one of the all time greatest rock vocalists put my ass in a trance as well. What can I say? There is one thing to watch live renditions of these guys on Youtube, but to hear it live and have it be even better is another. Everything, and I mean everything about this show was great. From their sound, to the lighting design, to the pyrotechnics and fireworks, these guys are in a league of their own. To go over some of my absolute favorites from their set that stood out to me β€œ45” β€œSound of Madness” β€œSecond Chance” β€œSimple Man” β€œPlanet Zero” all had my jaw on the floor.

Now I don’t mean to sound like a broken record and repeat myself again, but realize, these bands all will be headlining their own shows for years to come and this could be a once in a lifetime opportunity. So if you want to catch them all on one night be sure to go buy tickets to The Revolutions Live tour! Check out the remaining dates of the tour below!
