Oliver Tree's "Alone In A Crowd" Tour @ South Side Ballroom

Three words: Unpredictable. Insane. Genius.

On a chilly evening in Dallas, Texas, music lovers gathered at the South Side Ballroom to witness this highly anticipated show. Countless bowl cut wigs and Patagonia jackets filled the ballroom, awaiting the start of the show.

Oliver Tree’s performance at South Side Ballroom in Dallas was a show you’ll be sorry you missed. The set kicked off with Oliver being carried out on a pink leather couch, facing away from the crowd. Dressed in his “Alone In A Crowd” persona, Oliver picked up a giant remote and turned on a quirky documentary introducing the show, sprinkled in with comical in-faux-mercials that kept the audience guessing (and laughing.)

Oliver and the outfit-coordinated band opened up the show with the fan favorite “Miss You.” The crowd instantly erupted into a sea of jumping and dancing, fully immersing everyone into the infectious energy of the performance. As he moved on to Act II, we watched another well produced video montage, and Oliver changed into his “Cowboy Tears'' persona, equipped with a fringed jean jacket and blonde mullet. He was wheeled on stage, mounting a cow statue that spun in circles as he sang “Cowboys Don’t Cry” and a few other favorites from his sophomore album.

Then Oliver took the stage in yet another look, “Ugly Is Beautiful,” and played some of his most anticipated hits as the crowd's energy continued to erupt. Oliver Tree's stage presence and showmanship was captivating, to say the least. His unique blend of alternative rock, hip-hop, and electronic elements resonated with the audience, who sang along to every single word. The artist's charisma and quirky personality shone through as he engaged with the crowd.

The show began to wind down with Oliver putting a stagehand in a chokehold? The crowd responded with thunderous applause and cheers, clearly expressing their appreciation for an unforgettable night of music and entertainment. The crowd called for an encore, to which Oliver obliged, finishing up with the song that put him on the map, “Hurt.” After a final bow from Oliver and the band, they exit the stage. Oliver rolls back out on a scooter and does a trick for us. He then says goodnight, leaving the crowd begging for more.

The production value of the show was top-notch. You can tell so much planning and hard work went into visuals and presentation. Oliver kept the crowd continually entertained and truly gave a performance like no other. Overall, the "Alone In A Crowd" tour was a resounding success. From his infectious energy to his unique musical style, Oliver Tree captivated the audience from start to finish. It was a concert experience that will be remembered by fans for years to come; one that can not be duplicated.
